As many business and residential water users are discovering, they are being held responsible by the local water company or municipality to prevent contaminants from flowing into the local water supply from their water usage.  This includes the proper installation of back flow devices on domestic water feeds to heating, cooling, fire sprinkler, lawn sprinkler or other equipment that required water to operate.  As required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the Illinois Department of Public Health, after these devices are installed, they must be checked annually to verify proper operation for the safety of the water supply.  In the State of Illinois, the installation, repair, maintenance, testing and certification of back flow device must be completed by a licensed plumber who is cross control certified. 

Hirth Plumbing & Heating Company has played a large part in designing and maintaining cross control programs for the residential user with one (1) device on their boiler or lawn sprinkler up to small commercial customers with four (4) or five (5) devices to large institutional customers with over a hundred devices.  We will help you;

• Survey, log, test and certify existing devices.

• Locate existing equipment that requires back flow devices with a plan and price to complete the installation in a timely manner.

• Set up an annual test program to certify each device to maintain safe and proper operation as required by law.

• Provide on demand repairs of devices that fail prior the annual test program including updates of the log as needed.
